The HardieDeck™ Concealed Fixing system is designed to provide better performance and flexibility; however, to ensure that you get the full benefits, it is important that you are using the correct accessories.
The concealed fixing system provides an even better performing deck with improved drainage and ventilation, whilst maintaining the same good looks.
Note - the HardieDeck on display at all NHS stores has the FZ concealed fixing system installed
What are the new HardieDeck™ Components?

What is the suitability of each of the top strips i.e. when do I use the standard top strip vs. the FZ top strip?
Each top strip has been designed to provide maximum performance in 4 major applications and therefore must be used accordingly. They are not aesthetic options. The table below provides an overview of their suitability.

*FZ Top strip is designed to have a tight seal and it is designed to be used in BAL-FZ rated areas to comply with the requirements of AS3959 – Construction in Bushfire Prone Areas. HardieDeck™ Snap-in Top Strip FZ should be used in BAL-FZ zones only with the deck requirements listed in this table and in the current HardieDeck™ Installation Guide.

Are the screws included in the packs suitable for steel frames?
No. HardieDrive™ Screws are recommended for steel frames (Please refer to the HardieDeck™ Installation Guide for more information).
