Extreme beams are made from laminated radiata pine, with the large natural defects removed to ensure maximum structural performance as well as aesthetic beauty for any setting. Designed for the extreme outdoors, these beams are an ecological and visually appealing substitute for steel beams.
Extreme beams use a proven class 3 adhesive system, delivering excellent bond strength and longevity. In addition, a recognised timber preservation treatment is impregnated into the sustainable plantation timber to produce an enduring combination, impervious to borer attacks and fungal decay. They are suitable for use above ground throughout the punishing Australian environment.
Anywhere H3 treated pine is cut, notched, rebated or drilled, the unprotected area must be re-sealed with a suitable timber preservative to ensure the treatment envelope remains intact.
Laminated treated pine is handled using the same safety precautions as untreated timber. Typically that means gloves, dust masks and glasses should be worn at all times when working with H3 treated pine.
Treated pine sawdust and off-cuts are classed as non-hazardous material and can be disposed of as normal landfill waste. However, it’s important that treated timbers are not used as firewood or burnt.
