Wood Elements is an architectural hardwood cladding solution that brings natural style to any exterior surface, whether as an individual feature or an entire façade. Apart from being a great looking cladding, it’s extremely hard-wearing and perfect under the Australian sun.
Flume is sleek and stylish. A clean square-edged pencil shadowline profile with a narrow channel between each board for crisp definition.
Only the highest quality and naturally enduring species are used in the manufacture of Wood Elements, offering a life expectancy upwards of 40 years. These include Australian classics like blackbutt, ironbark, spotted gum, tallowwood and turpentine that are sought after around the world for their strength, durability and style.
A complete solution for any wall, supreme hardwood machining and detailed designs ensure a precision fit and watertight result. Wood Elements features include relief grooves to reduce warping and cupping, a straight-line edging process for extremely straight lengths, a ridge locator to proficiently align the overlap and accommodate expansion, a screw locator groove for concealed fixing, and an end matched system.
Whilst the manufacturer of Wood Elements recommend applying a penetrative oil based finish for moisture and UV management, it’s also viable to finish these weatherboards with a stain, paint or clear coat. Leaving the cladding raw is a further option, but accelerated weathering and reduced lifespan will likely result.
These native Australian hardwood species have an astonishing level of natural fire resistance. Their inherent fire retarding properties meet Australian Standard AS3959, and so can be used in bush-fire prone areas without any treatment.
