We know how important it is for you to build according to Australian standards, especially in areas with a high BAL rating. As such, our friends at Hume Doors are sharing the most recent changes to the BCA.
NCC AMENDMENT NOTES
It is important to note that these changes will only affect the internal composition of the doors, but the external look and feel of the products will not change.
What this means for your build
The changes to the BCA will take into effect of 1 September 2022 so Hume Doors advise the following:
UNTIL the 1st September 2022
Hume will continue to manufacture and estimate to the old standard AS1530.4-2005, unless YOU advise to manufacture to the new AS1530.4-2014
If unsure of your requirements, you are to seek clarification from your Client, Fire Engineer (FE) or Principal Certifying Authority (PCA) concerning the product compliance for your project.
FROM the 1st September 2022
Hume will be manufacturing and estimating to the new Australian standard AS1530.4-2014
We understand this can be confusing, so when you come to our stores advice us on the code that is recommended for your build and we will work with you to make this transition easy as.
