Treated radiata pine decking is a very popular choice throughout Australia – it’s perfect for large or small decks along with many other outdoor applications including pool surrounds, gardens, bridges, verandahs and more.

Manufactured from sustainable plantation grown radiata pine, it is pressure-treated with a light organic solvent preservative (LOSP) for protection against insect attacks and moisture decay, substantially extending the life of your structure. This makes it suitable for above-ground outdoor use, but can easily be adopted for any indoor application.

Featuring a “reeded reversible” pattern or profile, this decking has one reeded side with longitudinal grooves, and the other side plain or smooth in finish. A popular misconception is that the grooves provide an optional non-slip surface choice – this is incorrect, the grooves serve to reduce surface contact between the decking and joist, in turn preventing water retention and therefore decay. However, it’s not uncommon for this intent to be lost and the decking installed reeded-side up. 

Off-cuts of preservative treated timber should not be burnt, but instead disposed of in council approved landfill or incineration sites. In addition, the sawdust and shavings should not be used for mulch or animal bedding.

The Premium Treated pine decking has smaller and tighter knots than the standard decking. Ordered in the 4.8m lengths, it actually comes in a random length packs, with the 4.8's making up approximately 40% of the pack. Ask us what lengths are in the rack.
