As one of Australia’s premium native hardwoods, grey ironbark has an aesthetically pleasing appearance and a high degree of natural durability and strength. Grown in the coastal forests of New South Wales and South East Queensland, the native shades of grey ironbark range from dark chocolate to nutty honey, with occasional darker reds and browns, some even having black streaks running through the timber. The texture is moderately coarse and even. Grain is generally tight and straight.
Grey Ironbark is an extremely hard-wearing timber that makes it perfect for high traffic areas. It is susceptible to surface checking.
This Australian grey ironbark hardwood is sourced under the principles of Ecologically Sustainable Forestry Management.
