Product Description

Treated pine sleepers are a versatile and enduring choice for a range of landscaping applications. With a rugged yet pleasing visual, these sturdy sleepers are ideal for retaining walls (as either posts or whalers), garden beds, vegetable patches, fence posts, playgrounds, dividers, planter boxes and driveway edging.

Being ACQ (alkaline, copper and quaterny) H4 treated for above ground or in-ground use means the timber is arsenic-free but still protected against fungi and termites. This makes an ideal choice for applications where chemical sensitivity matters, such as vegetable gardens and children’s playgrounds.

Anywhere the treated pine post is cut, rebated, notched or drilled, the exposed area must be re-sealed with an equivalent timber preservative to maintain the integrity of the treatment envelope.

ACQ treated pine is handled using the same safety precautions as untreated timber. Typically that means gloves, dust masks and glasses should be worn at all times when working with H4 treated pine sleepers.

Treated pine sawdust and off-cuts are not classed as hazardous material and can be disposed of as normal landfill waste. However, it’s important that treated timbers are not used as firewood or burnt, nor used for mulch or animal bedding.
