Making a statement with external cladding

Making a statement with external cladding

A feature wall is all about making a statement, this can be used for a small space or to draw attention. A feature wall can also be used to create the illusion of scale with tone and texture.

Create the wow factor for your clients by adding a statement piece to their space. One of the most important benefits of designing a feature wall is that it makes it easier to achieve any of the modern looks by creating a focal point that ties in the elements of your client’s vision.

External cladding for the internal wow

Using materials from the home’s exterior to create a statement indoors will allow you to create a more cohesive design for the inside living spaces. All the popular modern looks promote the use of weatherboards to create texture for the home’s exterior, so why not use the same material for your client’s inside living areas? Weatherboards are the perfect product to tie modern looks together. They are versatile and easy to install, these products will save you time and deliver a seamless design for your clients.

While there are readily available products that can deliver a "wow" factor indoors there are some exterior profiles that won't be available in internal use options. Using external products will allow you to deliver a natural finish to the inside of the home, create a wider looking space through horizontal installations, allow for wider line widths (most indoor products won't go up to 300mm).

Spaces for feature walls

No matter the size of the space, installing weatherboards vertically or horizontally immediately adds depth to the room. Make the room feel wider and bigger by using the lines of the product or add colour to the space by painting over the weatherboard and create a wow factor.

Entry/Hallway

The seamless transition from the outside to inside will have a bigger impact at the home’s entry way. Your clients will immediately notice the use of texture as soon as they step into their home.
