Designed to allow the door to swing 180 degrees, parliament hinges permit maximum space through the doorway when open. Manufactured from steel with a zinc-plated finish, parliament hinges are an ideal choice for french doors, patio doors, external doors and window shutters. However, the short hinge pin cannot sustain heavy or extra wide doors, so broad butt hinges are recommended for heavy-duty applications.
