How do I know how much membrane or primer I need?
Gripset have put together a very handy calculator to ensure you have the right amount of product for your bathroom. Simply add how many sqr metres you are covering and the product you would like to use and it will tell you how much you need. Use the calculator HERE
What’s the warranty on Gripset?
Gripset products have a standard 10 year warranty. However, you have access to an additional 5 years of warranty for Gripset Specified systems once completing GAPP – and access to Gripset’s technical support services for specialised project warranties.
Can I use the GAAP course to become a licensed waterproofer?
- No, the GAAP course does not qualify you to become a licensed waterproofer
- In NSW, you need a licence or certificate to do any residential building work valued at more than $5000 in labour and materials (including GST).
- There are different types of licences available depending on the work you need to do.
- You must have the right qualifications and experience before you can apply for a licence or certificate.
- You can apply for a 1, 3 or 5 year licence or certificate.
How do I get involved in the GAPP Gripset training?

Should I use Villaboard or wet area Plasterboard?
Villaboard has a higher tensile bond strength than plasterboard does, this means it will be better suited to hold heavier tiles higher on the walls. While both Villaboard and wet area plasterboard are resistant to moisture and can both be used in steam prone areas, Villaboard is recommended for the tiled areas.
Flooring - Secura vs Tile Underlay:
Secura flooring can be directly fixed, this removes one step of installing particle board flooring such as Green Tongue and then using Tile Underlay in order for you to tile. Where particle board flooring has been used throughout the home, using a tile underlay is the way to go as the strength of Secura is not needed.
