Product Description

Premium wrapped H4 treated pine posts deliver outstanding quality and strength. Being a solid timber post manufactured from pruned New Zealand regrowth pine forests, the true strength of ‘mother nature’ is not compromised whilst the natural characteristics of the timber continue to shine through without the visible joins of alternative engineered or laminated products.

H4 treated pine is a timber which has a preservative treatment applied to protect it from fungal decay, borers and termite attack. A robust choice when exposed to the elements, it is suitable for in-ground applications throughout Australia.

Like all natural products, they have tendency to react to the local environment. The protective wrap minimises warping and twisting and also protects the product during installation, and is intended to be left in place until installed and/or anchored at both ends.

Anywhere the treated pine post is cut, rebated, notched or drilled, the exposed area must be re-sealed with a suitable timber preservative to maintain the integrity of the treatment envelope.

Structural treated pine is handled using the same safety precautions as untreated timber. Typically that means gloves, dust masks and glasses should be worn at all times when working with H4 treated pine posts.

Treated pine sawdust and off-cuts are not classed as hazardous material and can be disposed of as normal landfill waste. However, it’s important that treated timbers are not used as firewood or burnt.
